Often the term "Beachfront restaurant" is exaggerated slightly but here they have a number of tables and chairs actually on the beach. It's amazing to feel the sand between your toes when sipping wine and eating some of the best food I have ever tasted.

Jay and I both ordered a set meal. The only difference between his and mine is that his fish is steamed. I like mine grilled. It all tasted very fresh and it all costs $30 per person. It's served with a salad of steamed beans with a coconut dressing. The favourite sauce is the honey butter sauce - sumptuous. I also like the belachan which is spicy. I'm not done yet about the goodness of this place. There was entertainment - proper little Balinese girls dancing. If you catch her eye, she might just pull you out to dance! haha
"Excellent Beachside Experience"
Wonderful outdoor seating, really close to the sea. Cold drinks and well-prepared cocktails made for a good start, shortly after came the food, the grilled red snapper was incredible, the prawns delicious, the clams very good. The side sauces were really good as well.
Due to its unique location, on the northern end of the bay, we had a scenic view over whole Jimbaran bay, beautiful wooden fishing boats in front of us, very nice! We've eaten at other seafood places in Jimbaran bay but this one was the the most friendly, cleanest and the best.

"Away From The Crowds"
I am a regular at their restaurant in Nusa Dua. Few months ago they opened this restaurant at Jimbaran Bay so I gave it a try and immediately felt into love with the location. Kelan beach is a newly developed part of Jimbaran Bay and therefore unknown by the crowd and not yet flooded by tourist busses. When there for sunset dinner we shared the restaurant's beach with just two other tables, very tranquil ambience and kind of exclusive.
The restaurant is overviewing the bay and lots of colourful fishing boats rock in front. We had their popular seafood basket (350.000 rupiah) consisting of grill fish, prawn, squid, crab and Balinese vegetables and sambals, everything well-presented and very delicious. Complete menu and many pictures can be found on their beautiful website. It's a good idea to use their free transportation service because the location is a bit tricky to find.

"Hidden Gem"
Probably one of the best seafood restaurants at Jimbaran bay. We tried their seafood basket, superb! Also loved the location, a really hidden gem, tricky to find, so better use their free pick-up service.

"Perfect Dining Experience"
I was in Bali last week and found this wonderful restaurant. I was driven to Bawang Merah which led me through the streets of Jimbaran Bay so I was able to see the surrounds and get the beach feel before I arrived. Greeted by the warmth of accommodating staff I was overwhelmed by the beautiful endless clean beach on which the restaurant is situated.
I started with fresh cold pineapple juice, seafood spring rolls main meal fresh grilled whole fish, marinated (out of this world) prawns, steamed rice and coconut bean veggies... Every dish just melted in your mouth cooked to sheer perfection.... at night you can watch the sunset, eat from a table on soft sand and breathe in the fresh ocean air... If you go to Bali you have to try this new restaurant Free Pick Up from hotel its worth going just to Bali for! Enjoy

"Best Dining Experience"
We came over this restaurant by recommendation of a friend and we really enjoyed our sunset dinner at this lovely place. The food there is amazing, we tried the seafood basket with lobster and it was so fresh and delicious. We had a table on the beach but you can also sit on a roofed terrace. Impressive views and cozy atmosphere, friendly service and attentive staff. That was the best dining experience during our entire holiday.

"Genuine Place"
Away from other Jimbaran hustle as I have read some reviews about ploys with bills and taxis at other restaurants. Bawang Merah is run by decent people with a great feel for customer service. The view and the food and the wonderfully attentive staff make it as good as a 5 star in terms of enjoyment. Wonderful location, seafood basket a must have for seafood lovers. Timely pick-up and drop-off. Will be back. Cost us 600 rp dinner + drinks for 2.
